The Bakery!

The Bread Basket, located along the banks of the St Lawrence River, in South Dundas, is a unique artisan bakery.  Bread is baked reminiscent of the 1800's when bakers made their dough by hand, kneaded, and molded the bread without the aid of machines. These breads are not available on your local grocery store shelves.  All breads are made with unbleached stone ground flour obtained from Bellamy's Grist Mill at Upper Canada Village. This flour ensures a unique, distinctive flavour.   Production is limited as everything is done by hand.   Hand-shaped loaves of bread are baked in a wood fired brick oven.  Breads are made on a pre-order basis only.

The B&B!

We are excited to begin an expansion of our popular bakery by adding baking workshops and B&B facilities.   The house is large, warm and comfortable, the coffee is on and bread is in the oven.  What better place to put up your feet for a few days, and enjoy quiet, country living?
